I support expats, leaders and field personnel in international development institutions, non-profit sector organizations and social change initiatives. My main focus is to build capacities to better address today’s global challenges and to support individuals and organizations to thrive in new, sustaining ways. Over the past 20 years I have worked in the private sector, with government organizations, with civil society actors and supranational institutions across three continents. My career included working in Uganda, New York, South Sudan and Afghanistan. Collaborating on continent-wide organizational change initiatives as well as with many stakeholders and change agents across cultures, I know first-hand what it feels like to live in volatile environments, to be responsible for people and to work with resources that don’t always stretch to meet the size of what’s required. My work, methodologies, attitudes and worldviews are shaped by these experiences: underpinned by the principles of equity, collaboration, acceptance and compassion, and informed by what it means to engage right at the edge where plans and decisions face the messiness of reality. I will support you with all my heart to explore the inner landscape of your unfolding, to identify new ways of orienting your work towards ever-increasing impact, and how you can give your life, relationships and organization new directions, vitality and purpose. MSc in Consulting and Coaching for Change; Certified Integral Development Coach (ACTP/New Ventures West); ACC Accreditation with the ICF
My thinking about coaching: Coaching happens in partnership. It is a collaborative and dialogical inquiry process. In organizations, coaching should create value for individual clients, the teams they are part of, the organization, and all stakeholders involved. Why I coach: To play my part in creating positive systemic change. To provide individuals and teams with more options to achieve what they set out to do, to find meaning in who they are and what they do, and to be in service of who and what is important to them. Experience: 1. I have been coaching for more than 12 years and hold several certifications. 2. Primary focus areas are Executive and Leadership coaching with Systemic Team Coaching a current priority. 3. Working in large organizational leadership development and change projects has enabled me to connect levels of work/horizontal process flows and culture through coaching programs. 4. For the past 10 years, I have been involved in developing individual and team coaches. I have developed internal coaches and have set up internal coaching programs. Since 2020 I am a faculty member of an international team coaching training organization (Group and Team Coaching Institute – WBECS). 5. I am an individual and team coach supervisor, having done my first training in that regard in 2015. Associate Certified Meta-Coach, Systemic Team Coaching Master Practitioner Diploma

My approach to coaching Coaching is a partnership in which the coach inspires clients, through a process of thought provoking and creative interventions, to reach their full potential. My approach to coaching is significantly influenced by my experience in the workplace over 37 years as a corporate lawyer in South Africa both as a partner in Africa’s largest law firm and as a General Counsel of a FTSE 100 company. Over these 37 years I have realised that there is a strong link between optimal performance in the world of work and emotional robustness. Accordingly, where appropriate, I work with clients to focus on their inner strengths and self awareness in relation to the goals which clients have established for their coaching sessions. Through my own experiences, I have a good understanding of the pressures that clients face when trying to balance meeting the needs of their own demanding clients with life outside the office as well as finding a successful route through complex relationships and less than optimal management of people. In addition as I have been both a provider and user of corporate legal services I feel I can offer valuable insights into what it is like to be on both sides of any professional relationship but more especially in the world of law. My core coaching principles In every coaching relationship I apply a number of core principles – • I act ethically according to what best serves the needs of the client; • I aim to be empathetic, supportive, totally non-judgmental and unconditional; • I endeavour to stretch clients to step outside their comfort zone – the “loving boot” in coaching speak; • I am open and honest and open to receiving feedback which is similarly open, honest and direct; • I listen carefully with an uncluttered mind and observe non-verbal cues; • I aim to create a safe and totally confidential space to enable clients to build trust and feel empowered to be their authentic selves. Coaching model I am an eclectic and intuitive coach. Whilst I believe the various coaching models provide a useful framework for my coaching, I do not follow them slavishly. My model is to be flexible and to allow the clients’ needs to guide each coaching session. I support clients to help them work out their own solutions with a view to reaching their full potential Academy of Executive Coaching (practitioner diploma) and ACE Journey to Mastery 2021

As a child, Jakub Grzadzielski sang as a chorister in the world-famous Stuligrosz Choir, with which he toured throughout Europe. Later, he moved from music to sports, playing center for a major Polish regional basketball team. However, a serious knee injury curtailed his basketball career. He shifted to amateur boxing while pursuing his education, eventually graduating from the University of Technology in Poznan in the field of Electrical Engineering. Originally, he intended to get a PhD. However, family life intervened. “I’ll finish my doctoral studies,” he says with a laugh, “when my daughters leave home for college.” In his 17 years leading various teams in the automotive industry, Jakub discovered his real passion: working with and for people. “When I help people,” he states, “their achievements feel like my achievements.” What led Jakub to Stakeholder Centered Coaching? “After reading Marshall Goldsmith’s book, ‘What Got You Here Won’t Get You There’, I felt that the concepts in this book were the absolute foundation for any successful transformation.” He extolls “the incredible practicality and effectiveness of SCC methodology. From experience, I know that this approach guarantees measurable progress.” Jakub finds most rewarding the experience when the person he’s coaching changes behavior in a way that what was perceived as a weakness is now perceived as a strength. “These are the moments that show how much our profession is needed,” he says.

Here is what some past participants are sharing about the 6 month leadership coaching relationship.
"You eat an elephant one bite at a time" my Coach. Before the EthicalCoach program I was battling through life and just surviving, I had my plans for my personal life, business and leadership but I was battling the wrong way. Right from our first Session my coach install an environment of trust where I felt safe, it was our vulnerability circle. Each and every session for me was a self-discovery journey, a paradigm shift. I learned and discovered about my own self, my coach then equiped me with tools to impact my business and she helped me strategize my leadership journey but most of all her work was focused on me, me as a dad, as a husband, as a son, as a leader and as a citizen. I did not want the Ethicalcoach program to end and I believe it's one of the best thing ever happen to people around me and my community because everything I was learning was directly transfered to my hub and family members. I'm thankful and grateful.
The coaching process is an exciting journey in which we are the main character and the destination is our better self. This journey was way easier and more helpful with the kind support of my coach. She made me fell empowered and ready to tackle my leadership challenges. I will always thank my coach for giving me the best support to make decisions on my own and push me outside of my comfort zone.
"Before answering what coaching is, I want to be clear that what good coaching is not: your coach will not give you advice or an atkins diet plan to follow. Coaching is like cracking open a walnut, which is you and idea of self gently with questions. When at the end of 45 mins, I would feel so surprised to discover that I had the answers all this while but what I lacked was a process. At the end of our coaching program, I came up with a self coaching methodology with my coach. I also came up with ways to make this process sustainable. I realised that as an adolescent, jornaling was a great way for me to keep my sanity amid raging hormones and emotions. I had left it and now I think journaling couled with the self coaching methodology would be a great way for me to make this process sustainable. I think coaching is sustainable while being told to do things by a guru creates dependency. I am thankful to the Global Shapers Community for this opportunity.
I met my coach one year into the pandemic, as I finished my graduate studies in a country other than my hometown and with a lot of uncertainty about my future career and personal plans. By then, I had made the decision to try my luck in this new country even though I had limited professional networks, a different working language and was not sure that I could continue the career path I had started before my graduate degree. Because I had put a 2-year pause on my career and discovered new interests in the process, I was unable to find a common thread uniting my past and future experiences and I was sure I could no longer tell my own story. Upon embarking on the coaching journey with my coach, I started to have more agency over my own process, and reflect on the hows and whys of my decisions. My material reality did not change, it was my mindset and appreciation of myself and those around me that changed. And then not only one but two dream jobs manifested, I was invited to become an advisor of an international organization for youth political participation and I grew deeper into the feeling that I belong where my mind and heart are at peace. I recognized myself, my drive, my passions once again. My coach has been key in my personal and professional transition. From the first moment, when she told me that we would work holistically and that I could bring any practical problem into the conversation, she laid a solid ground of trust and empathy that allowed me to trust her, myself and the process. She is an incredible professional because she brings her full self to every moment of the coaching process and enables you to do the same. Her approach and tools are targeted to every client and carefully brought into the process. In my case, for example, she knew when to bring certain exercises such as breathing techniques to enable relaxation during sessions where I was not even aware of my stress levels. And she offered to bring a third person to whom I could present my elevator pitch, which we had previously worked on. That pitch and the mindset that Maria has patiently and lovingly helped me nurture landed me my current job. If you are reading this is because you want to invest in your personal and professional growth and you want to identify the correct partner for that extremely important process. I would undoubtedly recommend Maria as that coach and partner.
EthicalCoach program and my coach helped me to discover my strong sides and to rethink myself in professional environment. We worked on so many issues and defined the priorities. Our sessions were so intense and I appreciate all the efforts from to make our journey practical, informative, comprehensive and attractive. I think this 6 months course was a success. Thank you very much.
I hadn't gone through coaching before this opportunity was presented for me. Coaching has definitely helped channel the energy and questions I had of myself into something beautiful. As we are all trying to make sense of a new normal, this coaching journey was breath of fresh air!
The coaching offered by EthicalCoach and Global Shapers Community was a very unique experience for me. And since its the first time ever I took leadership coaching, I didn't really know what to expect but it turned out exceptional. What was quite different and remarkable is that coaches don't tell you where to improve or what not, they let you answer those complex questions that you are struggling with. It's very interesting how we all have answers to many of our questions but we don't dig deep or think about them in the right way, this coaching will certainly help you overcome that. I would highly recommend it to every Shaper!
Each coaching session was a place to share and explore questions, get unstuck, and make sense of the leadership crossroads I was encountering every day. I arrived at a more coherent understanding of the kind of leader, follower, and community member I would like to be. I’m grateful to the Global Shapers Community, EthicalCoach, and my brilliant coach, for their generosity in enabling this opportunity.
We are looking forward to learning more about how we can support and partner with you.
