Nic Etheridge Calder

Leadership Coach

I am originally from the east coast of Canada, now honoured to live and work on Treaty 7 land – traditional territories of Blackfoot and Métis people – now known as Calgary, AB, Canada. People have been gathering for many years, where the Elbow & Bow River meet; as the water provides life. Personally, I feel the most alive when connected to nature, community and beside the ocean, or for now these rivers.

For many years, I have been keenly enthusiastic about social change and progress. We are at a time in our world, where we are becoming increasingly conscious to our connections to each other and the planet. Often people search outside of self for solutions when capacity exists within – within self, teams, community and systems. My role is to invoke that capacity!

Background & Experience

  • Organizational Change Coaching
  • Team Assessment & Development
  • Large & Small Group Facilitation
  • Program Design, Delivery & Improvement

Expanding awareness and resiliency with my clients. I also tend to be drawn specifically to coaching with NGO leaders and tend to be drawn to emotional intelligence, systems intelligence & parallel process conversations. A large part of my work in non-profit is coaching and workshops that focus on occupational stress and growth, including compassion fatigue/satisfaction, vicarious trauma/resiliency, burnout/growth.

My response to this question would be very similar to what I included above. I have transitioned my career to coaching and human development at this time, to be of service to others while using my innate skills. For me, vocation is about aligning meaning and purpose with skills. I am pulled towards working with and collaborating with organizations that share a similar purpose and vision for the non-profit sector.
