Originally from Japan, Chizu has spent most of her professional life overseas. She worked for international organisations, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), living in field locations in different parts of the world for 20 years. She supported the national implementation of international conventions, promoted participatory community development and stakeholder engagement, and provided capacity building. She has managed and worked in multicultural teams throughout. A few years back, Chizu went through a significant personal life transition as she settled in the Netherlands. She grew passionate about supporting and empowering people and teams who work to change the world to make it healthier and more peaceful. She strives to do this through coaching, facilitation, and teaching. “The planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind.” – David W. Orr
