Marilyn O’Hearne
Marilyn O’Hearne, MSW, MCC, is a highly experienced coach, mentor, and supervisor with a rich background working in both the NGO and private sectors across over 30 countries. She has actively contributed to the coaching profession, serving on the ICF Global Board of Directors, as a Board Member at the Association of Coach Training Organizations, and on the Advisory Team for ICF Advance Cultural Competency Event. Recognized as a thought leader in personal bias, Cultural Intelligence (CQ), and Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Marilyn has published numerous articles on these topics and authored the book "Breaking Free from Bias," addressing the management of unconscious bias in organizations.
Marilyn is committed to the belief that expanding potential, including Cultural Intelligence, leads to reduced conflict, increased prosperity, and peace. Through her work, she facilitates breakthrough changes in individual, team, and organizational results by renewing vision and focus, fostering sustainable goal attainment, and preventing burnout and talent loss. Marilyn brings deep knowledge of cross-cultural interventions gained from substantial international exposure, including work in Ethiopia. In addition to her coaching practice, Marilyn has trained and mentored hundreds of coaches globally through her "Culturally Intelligent" Programs and collaborations with coach training organizations. Her professional journey includes serving as an NGO leader in Brazil and as an Organizational Behavior and International Business University Adjunct Professor in Hong Kong and Malaysia. A lifelong learner, Marilyn has pursued post-graduate training in various disciplines, including Systems Theory, Mediation, Intercultural Communication, Global Coaching Supervision Certification, Advanced Diploma in Deep Transformational Coaching, Coaching and Mentoring International, Immunity to Change, and Six Sigma. Notably, Marilyn is a recipient of the Thomas Leonard Achievement Award, recognizing coaches who embody the visionary perspective of Thomas Leonard, a significant contributor to the coaching profession and industry and the founder of the International Coach Federation.
